Maureen Torraco

Maureen Frances Torraco, aka Moe, began singing at the age of three, as her father would play Sinatra tunes from the great American songbook on the piano. She later performed on stage in the lead role of “Maria” in The Sound of Music, and “Amber” in Hairspray. Moe began drawing more significant attention when she delivered a stirring and memorable rendition of The National Anthem in front of a capacity crowd at Conte Forum on the campus of Boston College.  After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theater from Catholic University, she was selected to appear on the Katie Couric show, originally as a model filmed on Madison Avenue, and then spontaneously a live appearance on the show. Later that year she appeared in episodes of NBC’s show Smash.

Most recently, Moe has drawn upon her deeply personal experiences of love and loneliness, of joy and tragedy, of hope and hopelessness, to transpose these feeling into compelling musical lyrics that will touch the hearts and souls of those who listen.

Right now, Moe is collaborating with award winning musician, songwriter, and producer Joe Vulpis on her first EP. To complement the work she is doing with Joe, Moe is studying with the brilliant vocal coach in NYC, Don Lawrence. Don has received prominent recognition for his work with Bono, Mick Jagger, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, many other talented artists.

Her hit single Standing Ovation made it to #5 on the charts while spinning on radio and she just finished a six venue tour in the North East. Learn more at www.moetorraco.com
